After a successful 2020 Carnival, the State Championships will be on again on the shores of Lake Macquarie, which was the location of the event for three years from 2008-2010.
With the support of the Lake Macquarie City Council and the continued major partnership with Clubs NSW, the State Championships will attract around 7000 competitors, 600 officials, thousands of spectators and will inject around $10M into the local economy.
Surf Life Saving NSW Sports Manager says the new location is ideal for an event this size, with plenty of beach, reliable surf conditions and a range of accommodation options in the local area.
“Swansea Belmont has successfully hosted many of our major carnivals over the years and the club and its volunteers always put in an outstanding effort,” he said.
“It’s a huge undertaking for any club but it is also a huge privilege to welcome the state’s finest surf lifesavers to your beach and then host an event to remember.”
Swansea-Belmont SLSC President Graham Burge says the club is very excited to have the State Titles back at Blacksmiths Beach.
